Andre Moreau hosts live coverage of Governor John Bel Edwards’ opening address to the first 2018 Special Session of the Louisiana Legislature on February 19, 2018. Prior to the speech, Moreau and Barry Erwin of the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL) preview the Governor’s speech and the session. In the House chamber, Reverend Brady Whitton of the First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge leads a prayer and Johnny Ballance sings the National Anthem. During his speech, Governor Edwards discusses the importance of fixing the $1 billion fiscal cliff in order to stabilize the state budget. Following the speech, Moreau and Erwin analyze Governor Edwards’ remarks.
