Beth George hosts live coverage of Governor Edwin Edwards’ opening address to the 1977 Special Session of the Louisiana Legislature on August 7, 1977. In his speech, Governor Edwards discusses his proposals to fund pay raises for teachers and state employees, as well as a new teacher accountability program.
