Description
This episode of the series “En Francais” from October 16, 1983, features a tour of the arts and crafts booths at Festivals Acadiens in Lafayette, Louisiana, including a weaving demonstration by Gladys Clark. Vaughan Glasgow, the chief curator at the Louisiana State Museum, then leads a tour of the “L’Amour de Maman: The Acadian Textile Heritage” exhibit at the Presbytere in New Orleans. It also includes demonstrations of the Acadian weaving techniques used in south Louisiana. This episode was preserved through a 2018 CLIR Recordings at Risk Grant. Host: James Fontenot
