This episode of the series “En Francais” from June 26, 1983, features a visit to the Lafayette Regional Vocational Technical Institute. It includes interviews with: John Bertrand, a member of the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE); Shelton J. Cobb, director of the school; Leonard Leger, instructor; Phyllis Dupuis, instructor; and Gloria Flanagin, nursing instructor. Philippe Gustin then interviews Priscilla Gondron of Broussard Elementary School and Harold Hollier, the principal at L.J. Alleman Elementary School in Lafayette, Louisiana. They discuss their student exchange program with L’ecole Marguerite Bourgeoys near Montreal in Quebec, Canada. This episode was preserved through a 2018 CLIR Recordings at Risk Grant.
