Description
Negative footage of an interview with Governor John McKeithen on purchasing a new Lincoln Continental. He mentions that the Ford Motor Company furnished cars for all governors, and had just delivered one to Governor Paul Johnson of Mississippi. He states that Ford once furnished the car, but after much criticism leases it to the governor. McKeithen states that he is personally paying for the lease, not the state of Louisiana. McKeithen states that although it is customary for the governor and his wife to use state vehicles, he might want to loan it to other members of his family, so he will pay for the lease.
